i dare u devote yrself to something madly deeply truly. unconditionally. no excuses. too many a time we try to ‘happify’ ourselves through many means. stop consuming. stop playing pretend with this world. most importantly, stop feeding your guilty pleasures and blardy ‘wants’.
another FREAKING bag wont make u happy. Another pair of shoes wont make you happier. Travelling to another part of the world wont make u ANY happier. Stop kidding yourself. No. Gaining a perspective from other parts of the world so that you be wiser ? for who ? being prettier in bags costing more than your rent so that you can gain an edge in shallow girly talks ? or so that you get an air when u step out of the overly crowded mrt where nobody gives a shit ?
I feel the world brings us pain, and stuggles. But half of them come from within. I see daily unnecessary struggles which can be stopped. Becareful of what the world tells you. Beware, as most of them came from mass media and it aint true. Before you make a decision in life, pray. We’re different from others because we have an inner soul. “the inner voice”. It might not be jesus. It might be allah for you. Or whoever. But Pray. talk to yrself. Most of the time, when we choose to stop to ponder, the small voice gives its humble opinion. And it’s wise to listen. Even though we were born with the craziest and evilest minds, we are also gifted with the best good nature. though the ratio is always wrong. But the good part exists.
Instead of taking from the world, trying giving to it. Trying volunteering to the old folks. Try doing something for the orphans. WITHOUT truly expecting anything in return. Dont give me the karma crap. You’re only truly there when you do it out of your heart. Not to say you do it so that u get some sort of good karma in return. You do it because you truly want to be good. and make impact in this world. and not just make yourfreakingself happy.
Success is never a place. It’s never ending. And worst of all, ever more addictive. Not to say you should not aim to be successful. But I’m saying, other than trying to be successful, try being something else. Not just trying to network as much people as possible for future gains. Not just trying to be sociable because you have a hidden agenda. One which you yourself would deny. One which you choose to unbelieve from your system. But you know it exists. Sadly.
Try doing something good for others today. A random act of kindness without return.

Asked the SMRT cab driver. Do you take NETS. you mean credit card? No. I meant NETS. ok nvr md. You take ezlink right ? yes. ok. He grumbled say NETS and CC the same. I told him NETS is 0.30 charge. CC is 10% charge. EZLINK is free. He said oh he dont take it la. the company take.

Hopped onto cab. Asked him to U-turn ard to go AYE. he turned right. Say here also can, why go my way. Turned in, realised there’s no entrance into AYE. Din apologize.
I din fire his ass. On any other day, perhaps i will argue for a 50cents discount. I told myself, no pt arguing with an idiot for 50cts and spoil my mood.
He flew through AYE. Switching lanes dangerously.
Reached. EZ link doesnt work. The machine spoilt he says. I say CC 10% u know. it’s SGD 7. he say only 30cents charge. Instead of my usual self and making fun of his maths, i just told him 10% is 70cents.
I take this route more than 50 times. Usually it’s 6.50 on non peak. Today, i pay 7.70 to an idiot.
